Walking Tour Food Markets in Madrid (1/2 Day)

Our foodie guide will take you to know the essence of the Mediterranean food, and Spanish recipes in a half-day tour to these "temples" of ingredients.

You will start at the traditional La Paz market, located in the Salamanca Quarter. Here you will know a place that is famous for its potato Spanish omelette. You will have a stroll across the market's stalls to see the quality of the products, especially fish and meat. From there you will walk to the San Anton market. On the way, you could know the Platea space for you to know how the food has evolved in this modern place. Upon arrival to San Anton market, it is a must tasting some croquettes paired with wine. This market is a good example of how an old market has adapted and merged with the modern, surviving the old.

After that break, you will continue your walk along Fuencarral street, Gran Vía Avenue, and Arenal street to get the San Miguel Market, located just beside the Plaza Mayor. Since it is a very well-known place you should wait for a minute to get a table and stools, but it will be worth the wait. You could taste a portion of Iberian ham, green Spanish peppers and delicious olives while talking with our guide about how an old forgotten market can turn into a trendy famous place in a big city.

After this charming gastronomic walk, our guide will leave you there to enjoy the rest of the day on your own.
